SMTP for ASP

Hi Group,
I'm having a few problems with getting an SMTP server configured on my
Windows 2000 Server web server. My web server is co-located at my hosts and
i use VNC to remotely access the web server. Acting on advice from my host
IIS's SMTP server has been disabled by running the IIS lockdown Tool. I
have internal access to my hosts SMTP server where i can send mail from my
web site to my own domain email address only, i am not allowed to send email
external address.

Does anyone know of a SMTP server that i can use to send emails from my ASP
website?
My host suggested Jmail for doing the job. I installed JMail on my web
server but i am getting the following error:

"The message was undeliverable. All servers failed to receive the message"

Can anyone tell me what this error is?
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
I am correct in my understanding that JMail has its own SMTP server?
How can i test to see if JMail is working?
after installing JMail do i include my web server IP address as the SMTP
server?
Thanks in advance for any help received

JMail does not have its own SMTP server. You need to specify a SMTP server
(by IP Address, or by domain name). It uses TCP sockets to connect to the
server (which can be local or remote). This contrasts with CDONTS which can
only use the local IIS SMTP server.

Cheers

JMail needs you to supply it with the address of an SMTP server. In the
applications I've been writing, I've been using our ISP's SMTP address very
successfully for more than a year.

I hate this Net::SMTP stuff, everything works fine but for the suject field. I see no way of having it show in an email when sent. Has anyone had this problem, can anyone explain why there are no documentations on smtp or better ones at least. I just need the subject field to show. $smtp = Net::SMTP->new('some.your.com'); $smtp->mail ($mailfrom); #the administrator's email goes here $smtp->to('mine@your.com');

SMTP + relay + auth in an IPSEC tunnel to connect to our primary SMTP mail server (GroupWise) from the Web server looks like it would work fine, but is it the best way? I am aware of CDOSYS and some commercial DLLs that allow devs to send mail from within .ASP and .NET without local SMTP service running. Is there any OTHER way to connect to an external SMTP server for mail delivery from a .NET application?

I have a perl script that creates an email attachment file from POST data on a web page. This works just fine. I want to customize the email body to contain all of the text data from the file itself. I thought this would be just a matter of using the $smtp->datasend($POSTvalues) with the $values coming from the names on the web page posting the data. Can someone show me what the correct code snippet would be? Here is my code: ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
