real simple instructions

I have a home-network with XP Pro running
on one computer and want to setup a web site
on the XP machine so that I can setup ASP webs
with FP server extensions - and connect to them
from another home computer.

I find ALL the options - choices - selections
on IIs far to confusing - ( for my simple mind )

does anyone know of a site that offers very simple
STEP-BY STEP instructions and examples
( written in PLAIN english )

I have a friend who would like to move and program lights and other electric/electro-mechanical devices by computer. I would like to help - and needless to say Python would be an ideal language for the 'programmers interface'. What I'd like is an electronic interface that connects to several relays and a python extension module to switch on and off the relays. I've had a quick google and can't see anything too similar to what I want....

Hi. Can anyone refer me to any articles about the compatibility between c++ polymorphism and real-time programming? I'm currently on a real-time c++ project, and we're having a discussion about whether we should allow polymorphism. Our system is not embedded and does not need to be as real-time as, say, a pacemaker. But it does involve updating displays based on radar input. So a need for something close to real-time is desired...

Hi All, I've had Access 97, 2000 connections to the corporate Oracle database for a few years now - but seldom use it. When I did use it years ago, performance was not fast but the features were good enough. Now, the version of Access is 2003 with Office SP1 applied, Windows XP against Oracle 9.2. And attached tables are real slow - 5 mins to get to datasheet view and data is incorrect - the same row is repeated several times even in...

Well so far I've been directed to Access (when I asked for a free solution), I'be also been directed to firebird. I then asked how with firebird do I create the initial database, and setup the table. So that I can go back to writting my program and having it handle the add/edit/delete/search functions. No one seems to be able to tell me, or to point me to some kind of walk through, I'm not stupid, but I also don't want to have to read...

Hi, I'm trying to get a simple dataview test page working on my hosted site. The hosted site runs ASP.Net 2.0, no problem. The test page works on my development machine, no problem... but when I upload the published site I get... When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
