Hallo!
I have created an VB-ActiveX-Componente that copy files on network.
This works on one my development computer when I install application
on other IIS servers (files to copy on same server with same rights) I
get error message "Invalid filename or number". So what can cause this
problems?

I work with databases and some of my backup files are 30-100 gigs in
size. I currently use the FastCopy utility to copy files from one
server to another. (This is needed when I need to transfer a DB to a
different server). FastCopy says its 30 to 50% faster than Windows
file copy. I read somewhere that the windows kernel defaults to
4mb/sec throughput for copying.
Is this true? Is there a faster way or some utility to copy files?...

I have 2 web servers where I need to write a PDF file and need to keep them
in sync. In others words, If the Server1 is getting called to create the
PDF, then it needs to copy the PDF to the other Server2 and visa-versa. The
2 server are running 2003.
It's a form-based authentication (.NET 1.1) site and I'm using IIS 6 native
mode. Both boxes are set to the same workgroup. Since everything is so

Hi,
I have(had) an old Win2k Server server with about 30 web site databases
(SQL 2000) that just went under due to hardware problems. Thankfully, I
have backups of all the databases plus the MDF and LDF files from the
hard drive.
I want to move all of these sites and their data to a newer server
(Win2003) running SQL2000.

I asked the question yesterday, but know better how to ask it, today:
I'm trying to use the File.Copy method to copy a file from a client to
server (.Net web app under IIS ). It looks to me that when I
give a path like @"C:\holdfiles\myfile.txt" it looks on the server C drive.
How do I pull from the client? Do I need a different class and/or method?
Filestream?

I have a need to have a web server (windows based) grab files each week from
a linux based server - hosted elsewhere. I cannot use UNC paths.
I want to have a script (.asp/asp.net) on the windows server that I would
provide a list of files to copy. The script would then copy the listed files.
