I have variable, say "total". It can be an integer or floating number.
No matter what value it stores (5 or 5.1 or 5.24), when I display it, is
there a way I can make it display it with fixed 2 decimal digits, like 5.00?
Thanks 3 5814
See the FormatNumber() function in your VB Script documentation, assuming
you're using VB Script. If you do not have the documentation, download it
here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en,
or view it online here http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...riVBScript.asp.

Sure. Use the FormatNumber function.

I'd like to, but our network server's clock is at fault here. They haven't
fixed it yet ...

Here I send it.
Suggestions and all kinds of recomendations are more than welcomed.
If it all goes ok, it'll be a PEP when I finish writing/modifying the code.
Thank you.

Hello all,
The application I am working on must never output numbers in a
floating-point format, that is, something like
2e-002
is a big no-no. At the same time, it must output numbers in a compact way,
that is, it should only output significant digits, and only output a decimal
point if there are digits following it.

I've been searching in vain for a way to present typographically
correct fractions (not resorting to and tags) but have been
frustrated by the fact that the glyphs for one-half, one-eighth,
three-quarters, etc. do not display in the correct typeface (or even
consistently the same typeface) and seem totally resistant to attempt
to fix this through CSS:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"...

What are the purposes of fixed-point? When should it be used?
I read:
#define Int2Fixed(x) (((long)(short)x) << 16)
and the fixed-point in 16.16 format. Does the 16 in the MACRO refer to
integer or decimal part? For example, if in 8.24, should the macro be:
#define Int2Fixed(x) (((long)(short)x) << 24)?

It's often explained that the reason for some of the imprecision
in C's definition is so that C can be implemented on different
kinds of machines -- say, those with 2's complement,
1's complement, or sign-magnitude arithmetic. But the followup
remark is sometimes also made that the choice of arithmetic isn't
completely unconstrained, since the bitwise operators seem to
presume a base-2 machine.

I am doing Engineering(B.Tech) in Computer Science.
I have a question for which i am struggling to write a C code(program).
It struck me when we were being taught about a program which counts the
number of digits in a given number.
I request to help me out in solving the below said question.
Ask the user to enter a decimal/float number(eg. 32.8952), then count
the number of digits in that number after the decimal point(4 in this
case).

Dear Pythonistas,
How many times have we seen posts recently along the lines of "why is
it that 0.1 appears as 0.10000000000000001 in python?" that lead to
posters being sent to the definition of the IEEE 754 standard and the
decimal.py module? I am teaching an introductory numerical analysis
class this fall, and I realized that the best way to teach this stuff
is to be able to play with the representations directly, in particular
to be...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
