I'm trying to get a handle on the best way to handle setting up my listings
so that I display groups of about 25 records per page. I currently have a
page that returns over 1,000 names/addresses, which is obviously not very
efficient. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to approach
this, or recommendations on what pitfalls to avoid? I'm assuming that I need
to be able to count the total number of records that match the search...

Hi, all can any one suggest me what would be the best approach for paging
information out a recordset.
Explain.
I am building up a search engine with .ASP 3.0
using sql server database for data listing and what I Like to do is display
max 10 items in one page per search query and have Prev and Next to display
pages with informations requested and found in recordset.
sort of like google.

Hello,
I am converting an ASP page to ASP.Net. In one page, I am using record
paging. I have read that while the DataGrid control has paging, it can tax
resources. So I did a Google and found and example of using the Repeater
control (http://aspnet.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/091003-1.aspx). My
question is at approximately how many records does it make sense to not use
the DataGrid control, or should I always use something like the...

I have been paging with DataSet using "DataGridPageChangedEventArgs" and i
guess it works with only Dataset because default paging requires that the
DataGrid be able to determine the number of total records in the
DataSource. This is possible with the DataSet, but not with the SqlDataReader..
So what are the best ways to apply paging to SqlDataReader....
For example how can i apply paging with the code below:-

Hi.
I already have a datagrid where I'm using paging. I have a stored procedure
that fills a temp table with 200-500 rows and then sends back 10 records at
the time. When I go to page 2 the SP fills the temp table again and returns
rows 10-19. The temp table is dropped after each call to the SP, so it has
to be created and filled every time the user changes page in the datagrid.
My question is this: Would it be more efficient to...

This approach I found very efficient and FAST when compared to the
rowcount, or Subquery Approaches.
This is before the advent of a ranking function from DB such as
ROW_NUMBER() in SQL Server 2005 and the likes of it. So
This one works with SQL2000
What do you think?

I am developing a simple table update web page using two asp.net 2.0 pages.
1. Gridview with paging for selection and 2. Detailview for the actual
update. All works fine but a 'nice have' would be to return to the gridview
page on the same paging page that the selection was made. Can somebody point
me in the right direction.

I heard in an online video by Scott Gu, that there is an option to have the
asp.net datagrid in .net 2.0 do the paging in SQL Server 2005 rather than
pull all the data from the database and do it on the web server.
I've been unable to find any good documentation on this. I saw a property
to turn on paging if the select supports it, but that did not give me enough
information to complete my task.
Does anyone know where I can find...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
