Hi,
I am trying to provide some simple validation using Javascript on my
form.
However at times the validation works and at others it doesn't and
submits the form without any warnings even though it contains invalid
values. And sometimes it displays the warnings and submits the form!
I'm really confused and don't know what else I can do (I want to provide
the validation server-side)

I have a web site that, due to maintenance by several people, some of whom are
fairly clueless about HTML and CSS, etc. (notably me), has gotten to the point
where I'm pretty sure it's suffering from bit rot. Though the pages seem to
display okay under IE and FF, I really think it's time for an under-the-hood
cleaning. I recently received a copy of Molly Holzschlag's "Spring Into HTML
and CSS," and in the first chapter, she makes a big...

1- One day, I stumbled across a website that offers to validate
webpages. What was really special about that site is that the validation
service was available in Russian, German, Spanish and English. Now, I
can't find this site anymore. I did search google. Do you know such
site? What's its url?
2- Generally speaking, the...

Hi,
Has anyone experienced the problem where validation controls stop a
previously working page from submitting.
Sometimes, when I move between my work machine and my home machine
validation that was previously working perfectly just starts to bugger up
the page.
One normally happens is I'll have it working fine at work and then when I

I have two UserControls I am using in a form. These are each also used
separately in two other forms. The structure is essentially this:
CourseUserControl.ascx - select or enter a course
SessionUserControl.ascx - select or enter a course session
CourseDetails.aspx - a form which contains just CourseUserControl
CourseSessionDetails.aspx - a form which contains just
SessionUserControl
TrainingRequestDetails.aspx - a form which includes...

We're running a site that has required field validation on the login page.
It works fine on our development / test machines. However, when I upload
this site to our live server i get this error.
In IE, the validation works, but no form ever gets submited. It doesn't even
process the click event of the button. In mozilla, it works 100% (this is
weird because it's usually the oposite).
Any thoughts?

Howdy,
I've got a webform which contains a usercontrol with several textboxes
and appropriate requiredfield validators for each. the validation works
correctly except when all of the fields appear to be correct ( no
validation warnings ) the submit button does not cause a postback to
the server. The page is using client side validation. Has anyone seen
this before? Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help,
Justin Merth

Hi,
I am trying to customize the asp.net validation to achieve the following:
Upon submitting the form, client side validation will run, and it will stop
at the first error detected. For example if both UserID and Password text
fields are required but neither is filled in, I'd like to display the error
message (a dialogbox) "Please enter the User ID". And only after the user
has filled in UserID, it will display "Please enter the...

My question is simply: under what conditions will empty tags of the
form <MOM></MOM> pass schema validation? Of course, the mirror
question is: under what conditions will empty tags fail validation?
The former seems to be an easier question to answer.
XML files will arrive from around the world and must be schema
validated before further processing and loading into a database, so I'm
trying to foresee the various layouts that might be...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
