How can I pass large amounts of data from a form?

If I use a form to pass data (say, for example, through a textbox) the data
seems to be limited to somewhat smaller amounts. What should I do if I want
to pass a large amount of data? For example a list of 200 items?

<TEXTAREA>
<SELECT>
etc...
These will all handle large amounts. You didn't indicate what your specific
error/problem is though so it's tough to help

Does anyone have ideas on the best way to move large amounts of data between tables? I am doing several simple insert/select statements from a staging table to several holding tables, but because of the volume it is taking an extraordinary amount of time. I considered using cursors but have read that may not be the best thing for this situation. Any thoughts? -- Posted using the http://www.dbforumz.com interface, at author's request...

Hi I have an application for my company's HR department where we store resumes for candidates we receive. I have an application that uses VB.Net and ADO.Net and data bindings (through code) to controls on a Windows form. The question I have is that once the database grows and contains a large number of records, I am worried the dataset is going to create too much overhead when the user clicks "show all records" (the full resume which...

Hi, I have a stored procedure written in java in an Oracle 10g db. This sp takes a java.lang.String as input, creates a file on disk and writes the string contents to it and inserts the filename (plus some other data) in a table in the database and returns the newly generated primary key (as a java.lang.Integer). The call spec defines the input parameter as a LONG. I have also written a java client app to test this and it works fine up to a...

Hello everyone: I am looking for everyone's thoughts on moving large amounts (actually, not very large, but large enough that I'm throwing exceptions using the default configurations). We're doing a proof-of-concept on WCF whereby we have a Windows form client and a Server. Our server is a middle-tier that interfaces with our SQL 05 database server.

I am writing a program which needs to include a large amount of data. Basically, the data are p values for different possible outcomes from trials with different number of observations (the p values are necessarily based on slow simulations rather than on a standard function, so I estimated them once and want the program to include this information). Currently, I have this stored as a vector of vectors of varying sizes (first vector is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
