AspAllowOutOfPr ocComponents - How to solve this issue?

I am testing ASP application (VBScript) on a Windows 98SE system
with PWS.

I used to be able to run the application - which requires connection
to a database - but now I am getting this error:

=============== =============== =============== =============== ==
Server object error 'ASP 0196 : 80040154'
Cannot launch out of process component
/app/globals.inc, line 2
Only InProc server components should be used. If you want to use
LocalServer components, you must set the AspAllowOutOfPr ocComponents
metabase setting. Please consult the help file for important
considerations.
=============== =============== =============== =============== ==

The error in line 2 is the database connection.

I also have the following applications, which may affect the system:

Visual Studio 6.0
MSDE (SQL Server 7.0)
Frontpage 2000

All of the above had been in the system and I had no problem running
ASP applications, but the problem had cropped up recently.

Anyone has the experience of solving this?

Rgds,
Todd Simpson

I am hopeful that someone can quickly solve my image alignment issue when things are just not going right and where my attempts to solve this alignment issue have all failed. First of all take a look here... http://www.cardman.com/switches.html In MIE this page looks perfect. Unfortunately both Netscape and Opera show these item photos in the wrong place. For some *unknown* reason all the photos drop down to align with the green...

Hi all, Just want to comment on this thread. Seems like every discussion about this matter (setting up DB provider for membership) and all the samples/references given by some MVPs always refering to LOCALHOST in their solution. Aren't they all forget that people build an ASP.NET appl are plans to host their appl in an commercial hosting provider, whom most of them can't afford the fancy of dedicated servers - most of them hosts on shared...

Anyone have a clean way of solving this define issue? In Windows, there are sometimes unicode functions and multibyte functions... the naming convention used is FunctionA for multibyte and FunctionW for unicode... So basically what happens is: void FunctionA(); void FunctionW();

Still working on trying to solve this issue. I have an ASP.NET aspx page that needs to copy a file to a fileshare on another server. As a simple test I have been trying to do the following: string fullPath = @"\\someserver\someshare\log.txt"; File.WriteAllText(fullPath,"test"); I get an error. I even get an error if I try to use the code from: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/User_Impersonation_in_Ne.asp

I read the article on http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.2/descrintro/#metaclasses and started using autoprop. But now I have a problem I can't seem to solve myself. class autoprop(type): def __init__(cls, name, bases, dict): super(autoprop, cls).__init__(name, bases, dict) props = {} for name in dict.keys(): if name.startswith("_get_") or name.startswith("_set_"):

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
