Sincere Apology

"Mike Brind" <pa*******@hotm ail.com> wrote in message
You've been here for help a couple of times now, and yet you thought it
was appropriate to spam the newsgroup with other irrelevant stuff about
bank charges. You should consider yourself very fortunate indeed if
you get any help here again in the future.

Please accept my sincere apology for any offence caused by submitting "Spam"
to your newsgroup Mike. You people have helped me and I thought that I could
also help you! Bank charges are an evil scourge on poor innocent people from
all over. I honestly thought that no one would object to this?

Please accept my sincere apology, I would like to offer to place a link or
add to your news group on the main page of the site.

Should you wish to accept I would be most grateful?

You are clearly in earnest, so I suggest we move on. But before we do,
consider how you feel about all those people who thought they would
"help" you on a daily basis by filling your email inbox with offers for
pharmaceuticals , software, email marketing lists, loans etc, etc.

It's not *my* newsgroup. It doesn't belong to anyone. And as far as I
know, no one needs permission to place links to external sites on their
own web site.

I am not sure what link to place on my site to this group ?

Should it be microsoft.publi c.inetserver.as p.general

Or should it be http://www.ureader.com/group/522-1.aspx

Either way I would like to show my sincere apology to the whole group.

How about:

nntp://microsoft.publi c.inetserver.as p.general

That link should open whatever the user has chosen as their default
newsreader.

Thanks Ron, I have now included that link in the top right corner of the
main page on my site (not the index page but the second page, probably the
focal point). It will remain as long as this group exists or as long as my
site remains online in my name.

Thanks to everyone for your understanding.

Can anyone tell me why I might be getting a 500 error trying to use this VBS template in ASP? The only thing I could see to do to make it work in ASP was to add Server.CreateObject instead of CreateObject. But, obviously there is something more. It has been suggested to me off-list that my response(s) to Bill Mill in the "is this pythonic" thread were rude and hostile. If that is what people saw in my posts, then I apologise, because that wasn't my intention. In fact, my comments weren't especially even aimed at Bill -- they were intended as more general comments about finding a balance between dismissing questions by pointing to the Python references, and guiding the

My recent replies to Paul Hsieh have been unnecessarily inflammatory. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
