I was happily coding along, putting some calculation results (rolling
annualized rates of return - too compute-intensive to calculate
on-the-fly - had tb staged beforehand via a batch job) into Double
fields.
Now, the clients have just dropped a litle bomb: they want to see
"(NA)" if the calculation failed due to insufficient input data.
That means our fields can have three kinds of values:

Hi
I have created custom membership/role/profile providers as per the
web.config below. My questions are;
1. Have I defined them correctly?
2. How can I make the Login and Create User Wizard controls to use these
providers instead of the standard providers?

Hi all,
I am pretty new to asp.net; I've done lots of classic asp, but am just
beginning to get my mind wrapped around .net.
What I'd like to do is include some code that tests if a user is logged
in, on each and every page, and redirects the user to a login page if
s/he's not logged in. The login page will also take care of some
standard setup, such as choosing/populating a user profile. I used to
use <!-- #include ... --for this,...

- comp.databases.ms-sqlserver
- microsoft.public.sqlserver.odbc
- microsoft.public.sqlserver.server
I installed "SQL 2005 Express with Advanced Services with SP1" onto two machines
with "Windows XP Pro SP2".
On both computers I noticed that in SSMS Express, under "Server Objects"
-"Linked Servers" -"Providers", the list of providers installed is empty!!!!

I'd like to store information for roles in Session variables. RoleA
has a specific set of values, RoleB has a specific set and so one.
When I access values for RoleA, it looks like this:
Session = "30"
Session = "1000"
Session = "5"
Session = "10"
and similar for the other roles. Those values are initially loaded

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to use asp.net membership providers for my
vs2005 web project. unfortunately the only walkthrough in MSDN uses the "Web
Site Administration Tool" to configure the providers, and that tool only
seems to be available for web sites, not web projects.
I can't figure out where the WSAT persists all the settings. the user and
group information seems to be all in a SQL server database but there is no
where...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
