Limit access to ASP sites to domain users only

Hi, all. We're running Windows 2003 Enterprise Edn. with IIS 6. We'd like to
limit the access to two of our ASP apps to those who are on the domain --
without using the integrated domain authentication popup. In other words, we
don't want users on the domain to have to log in every time (or even once);
those not on the domain would not see the site at all. Is this possible?
How? Thanks.

Hi. In the ldb file you can see the users of the mdb-file. If you open the mdb-file your machine and username will be written in the lbd- file. Allthough you close the mdb-file your name won't disappear from the ldb-file, before every user has closed the mdb-file. I have heard that there will be problems if the amount of users will be over 10 in mdb-files. Is that true? Hannu

Howdy, I am having trouble with the objectCategory=group member.Count attribute. I get one of three counts, a number between 1-999, no member (does not contain member property), or 0. Using LDIFDE as a comparison I get the same results. No members means just that, an empty group. Zero means that the DirectorySearcher.SizeLimit has been exceeded....

We have several intranet ASP.NET web sites. Users log on to the sites by using form authentication and custom security (user names and passwords are stored in the database). If a user logs on to the first site and from within this site is redirected to another one, we would like to pass its security information along, so the user doesn't need to log on again. I am thinking of making a gateway page that will have two url parameters,...

Using 1.1... I want to enable users to authenticate to one site, then be transferred to a 2nd site without having to also log in there. In other words, authenticating to site1 automatically authenticates users in site2. FWIW: These two sites are at different domain names, but they are on the same server and I have complete administrative control over both. Can this be done? If so, I'd appreciate some high-level direction. Thanks!

I am in need of a solution on how to solve this problem: I need to limit access to six different folders. My users are validated in a system which check their prescence with a couple of variables in a db and then forwards them if they exist. Based upoen their status they are redirected to one of six folders. Users belonging to group A shall get access to folder A, but not B, C etc. It must be possible to limit access in this order by...

I'm trying to access an access database on the file server from a web server using asp.net and IIS 6.0. I can do it when I have anonymous access enabled in IIS 6.0 as in the public internet web site style. I want to do the same with the intranet setup where IIS 6.0 is not setup to allow anonymous access. The way the intranet works is the user authenticates to the IIS 6.0 web server through group membership in an active directory domain. ...

Hi, on my Apache server I want to limit access to a certain file ouput (from php/MySQL) to just one IP. The idea is that users from another site should click a link whic redirects them to my special page on my server. Only those who access my page from one particulary URL are allowed to see my file. All others are denied. Is it possible to solve this with a .htaccess file, or do I need a php solution?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
