pass parameters to included files in asp

hi

i created survey.asp which displays the survey passed through the name
paramter in the url.
it works fine if i open the page like this.
http://url/survey.asp?name=survey1

but now i would like to include survey.asp in a different asp file,
let's call it main.asp, and display several surveys.

so i added the following lines to main.asp:
<!-- #include file="survey.as p?name=suvey1"-->
<!-- #include file="survey.as p?name=suvey2"-->

i get the message file not found. the webserver seems to try to open
the file "survey.asp?nam e=suvey1" instead of survey.asp and pass the
paramter.

it works fine when i includ like this
<!-- #include file="survey.as p-->
and open main.asp like this
http://url/main.asp?name=survey1

but this way i can only display only one survey in main.asp

is there a way to pass parameter to included files or is there another
way to include files?

thanks for your support
greetings yves

This cannot work,

because survey.asp is not executed,
only it's litteral text is added/included in main.asp
before execution of the latter,

and execution is neccessary for a querystring to have any effect.

Hello. I have an easy question, likely, that has me in a headspin. I have an include file to a frames based site that basically forces frames on the end user if they visit the site and hit a non-frames created page... Simply, it is: if (parent != self)

Let's assume that we have a database on some SQL server (let it be MS SQL Server) and that we want to execute some parameterized query as a pass.through query. How can we pass parameters to the server ? Is it possible to use parameters in pass-through queries ? An additional question: Is it possible to connect to a database on MySQL or PostgreSQL using ADO ? Is it possible to execute pass-through queries with parameters, using ADO...

Hi everybody! Recently I was struggling with client/server issues in MS Access/PostgreSQL combination. Although Access is intuitive and easy to use desktop database solution, many problems appear when someone is trying to use it as front-end for real server database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. One of these problems is regarding pass-through queries and parameters. I wanted to have all the code on client, while executing it on...

Hi - I have 3 access queries which I run via 1 macro. Each of the queries now requires 2 parameters when they the run. The parameters are start and end dates. I have built the parameters into the queries but on running the macro I have to enter each of the dates 3 times - once for each query. Is there an easy way to ask for the parameters once and for these to be passed onto each query?

Hello All, I have a new challenge. I've created a Crystal Report (version 10) and saved the file. Now from my program I want to print it to an Adobe PDF file. My question is: How do I pass parameters thru Crystal to modify printer behavior? For Instance: 1. Pass it a path & filename to save to. eg; "C:\ReportDist\R100102-060902.pdf" (included the date in the filename) 2. Tell the Adobe PDF printer to overwrite an existing file if...

Hello, I have a scenario where my CPP project is not compiled with CLR support, but some of the CPP files have the /clr option set. In file1.cpp, the /clr switch is not set. In file2.cpp, the /clr switch is set. file2.h is the header for file2.cpp, and this header is included in file1.cpp. file2.h contains method signatures containing only native types, including some funtions which take a CString parameter or a const pointer to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
