I have written the following VBScript program. It is stored into a
file "map_drive.vbs". It successfully mapped to a network drive
\\server1\data.
Dim WshNetwork
Set WshNetwork = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network")
sPwd = inputbox("Enter password")
WshNetwork.MapNetworkDrive "J:", "\\server1\data", false,
"xyz_net\John", sPwd
Msgbox "Drives has been map successful"

I have created an Excel spreadsheet for the web. When it opens in IE
6.0 I get the message that the format is not supported. This is because
it is in tab delimited format. Ane when I save the file, It saves it as
txt. How can this file be created so that Excel sees it as an .xls
format. I created the data in VB 6.0 with a vbtab to seperate the
columns.
Hope this is enough information.
Thanks for the help,

CreateObject("Excel.Application") on NT 4.0 hangs and I have to kill
the Access 97 app that it is running on.
The same code works fine as a stand alone code. This occurs on users'
machines thatt have weird builds and I was wondering if anyone has
seen this and can shed some light what I can look into. Thanks.

Is there a way to code the button that's available in the query
window--microsoft excel icon that exports to excel. I know
transferspreadsheet will do this---but I want the query, which is in a
pivot table view, to be exported as a pivot, not just a data list.
Does this code exist? Is it transferspreadsheet but with a twist?

Hi,
I have code similar to this..
Dim xlApp As Object
xlApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application", "\\MyServer")
The call is from a asp.net (Intranet) application. \\Myserver is a network
computer in the same domain as web server. The only way I can get this call
worked is when I add the user who logs on to the web site as Administrators.
I need to get this working without having to make the user administrator.
Any suggestion?

Hi Everybody,
I have a vb.net webform where I create the Excel
application/workbook/worksheet. On Windows 2000 server for some reason, I
keep getting an error("Bad variable type") when trying to first set the value
to a cell. I don't have the problem on 2003 server or XP, and I'm wondering
if anyone knows of a get around on 2000?
Try
EApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application")

I don't some Excel automation. I've created a program that opens and Excel
template and inputs information to it. It runs great on my machine. When I
build and deploy I have a user that keep getting the error message: "Object
reference not set to an instance of an object."
Here is the code that generates the message:
Dim xlApp As Excel.Application
Dim xlBook As Excel.Workbook
Dim xlSheet As Excel.Worksheet

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
