I've experienced the same problem and it may have to do with the iusr and
iwam accounts not having permissions to the registered dll.

ok, so I am having problems passing in an ASPX function into the Javascript in the codebehind page. I am simply using a confirm call which when they press "OK" they call this ASPX function, when they press "Cancel" they call another ASPX function.
My code now is:
System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Write("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=""JavaScript"">" & vbCrLf)
System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Write("if (confirm('Are you sure you want to...

I've created a system or external trigger on an AS/400 file a.k.a DB2 table.
(Note this is an external trigger defined with the ADDPFTRG CL command, not
a SQL trigger defined with the CREATE TRIGGER statement.) I've also defined
a SQL stored proc, and the trigger is set to call this SP. I've posted the

external trigger is created without any errors. However, when I do...

Hi Everyone,
I've spent hours investigating why my Async (one way) call wasn't
invoking the method on my server.
Basically, if I remove " Console.ReadLine() ", the method DOESN'T get
invoked.
Can anyone tell me why? Does the call require a pause?

Hello,
Is there a good way to call a big time-consumming function from an
ActiveX DLL (interoped) through a thread without blocking the main UI ?
Here are the details :
I have a class CInteropCall encapsulating a call to a visual basic
ActiveX DLL function named FillAlloc_ArrayStruct_Double(), which is
allocating a big struct array an fills it using a inner loop

I have run an experiment to try to learn some things about floating point
performance in managed C++. I am using Visual Studio
2003. I was hoping to get a feel for whether or not it would make sense to
punch out from managed code to native code (I was using
IJW) in order to do some amount of floating point work and, if so, what that
certain amount of floating point work was
approximately.
To attempt to do this I made a program that...

Consider the variadic function with the following prototype:
int foo(int num,...);
Here 'num' specifies the number of arguments, and assume that all the
arguments that should be passed to this function are of type int.
(My question has nothing to do with the definition of the function
foo, so don't bother about it.)
If I call the function as:
foo(2,3,4,5,6,7,8);/*More arguments than expected*/

The web service is called by a program running on pocket pc. When to
call the web service, the first call is still ok, but for the second
or later calls, it will throw "403 Forbidden" WebException. When to
test it using the web interface on pocket IE, everything is fine.
Before there was no such problem, it only happened within a week or
so. I suspect it's caused by the server's firewall settings, but how
come the first call is ok? This...

Hi there
I'm hoping someone can help me out with the use of the Eval function. I am using Access2003 under WinXP Pro. I can successfully use the Eval function and get it to call any function with or without parms. I know that any function that is passed to Eval() must be declared Public. It can be a Sub or Function, as long as it's Public. I even have it where the "function" evaluated by Eval can be in a form (class) module or in a standard...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
