Create ASP.NET web application in the default website

On my local sandbox , in IIS I created some Websites .

Now when I try to create a ASP.NET we app , it tries to create it in the
website last created and fails .

But my requirement is to create it in the Default We Site mapped to
C:\Inetpub\wwwr oot

Can anybody guide me how to do that ?

I have a doubt that when a new website is created in IIS , it becomes the
Default web site . If it is so how to revert the default back to 'Default Web
Site'

There was no way for you to know it, but this is a classic asp newsgroup.
While you may be lucky enough to find a dotnet-savvy person here who can
answer your question, you can eliminate the luck factor by posting your
question to a group where those dotnet-savvy people hang out. I suggest
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.aspnet.

Whenever I want to create a C# / asp.net based web site, Visual Studio always requires a subdirectory for the project. So when I make my site, for example abcinc.com, the web site ends up at http://www.abcinc.com/abcinc/ or some other subdirectory. How can I just setup a project for http//www.abcinc.com/ ? Thank you! This is driving me nvts!

When I try to create a new web application in VS Studio .NET 2003 at a simple default location eg: http://localhost/WebApplication1 I get the following error: Visual Studio .NET cannot create or open the application. The likeliest problem is that required components are not installed on the local Web Server. Run Visual Studio .NET setup and add the Web Development component. Now in IIS6 my default website points at c:\websites which...

Hello All, I have been bounced on a new issue this time. My problem is, I have a configured SharePoint Team Services 2.0 installed as default website, which prevents the creation of any new ASP.net projects or even working of existing ASP.net website. So, I am thinking to create a new virtual web server, where I can launch the creation of asp.net application the regular way through Visual studio.net 2003, If this works, I would like...

We've inherited a number of applications and one of them lives on its own server, in the default website. Looking at IIS, the aspx and other files are in the default website entry. All the applications that I've written go to virtual directories under the default website. One of my co-workers installed the application on a test server and broke the other application that we were testing (mine I might add). Since I've never used the...

Hi, i'm building an web application for anonymous users. They can take a look in the website, nothing more. In order to perform other actions, the anonymous user must be logged. So i create an aspx page with the CreateUserWizard control. The user can fill his username, password etc .... My problem is: when an user fills everything and clicks on button "create an account", nothing happens (no error, but no user account created). I...

I use Visual Studio .NET 2005 to create a website called "website1". When I start this website in Visual Studio, the URL is http://localhost:49299/website1/default.aspx How can I get rid of "/website1" in the path? I want the URL to be http://localhost:49299/default.aspx The reason I want to get rid of /website1 is that I want the URL to be http://www.mycompany.com/default.aspx on production machine.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
