Hi,
I’ve created an educational software application accessed by students from a
central server. On Start-Up the application reads an XML file that stores
student progress records. This XML file stores DataSet information, one
DataTable and a number of DataRows, one per student. Once finished the
student’s DataRow is updated and the DataSet is written to the XML file.

Hi,
is it possible to show the progress of a big file being copied e.g. in
a "progressbar"?
I tried to use file.copy - but this seems to make no sense :-(
Thanks in advance,
Randy

Hi
Generally,
FileInfo fi = new FileInfo(path);
long size = fi.Length;
gets you the length of a file in bytes. However, when copying files, even
while the copy operation is still in progress, the filesize, as indicated in
Windows Explorer or derived with the above two lines of code, will be the
size of the file once the copy operation has completed. Is there a way to

I am pretty much lost here - I am trying to create a managed c++
wrapper for this dll, so that I can use it from c#/vb.net, however, it
does not conform to any standard style of coding I have seen. It is
almost like it is trying to implement it's own COM interfaces...
below is the header, and a link to the dll+code:
Zip file with header, example, and DLL:...

Usig VB .NET 2003, I'm writing a simple app that copies 1 or more files.
Requiremtns state that I need two progress bars one for current file copy
progress and one for overall progress.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to obtain progress about a file as it is
being copied. I've read some thread about using the SHFileOperation API but
I'm lost as to how to implemt that in .NET.
Can someone give me a pointer to some doco? Also an...

Hi!
I want to check my zip file writings.
I need some callback procedure to show a progress bar.
Can I do that?
I don't want to modify the PyLib module to extend it, because if I get
another py, the changes are lost.
This happening too if I copy the zip module to modify it.
Any solution?

I need to copy a huge file (around 300Mb) from a mapped network drive
to another.
I have created a console application and used System.IO.File.Copy
function.
But I want to know the process of this copying work.
Is there any way?
I am thinking that I can get the file size, but I don't know how to
get the size copied.
Thanks.

Using File.Copy in the System.IO namespace, it's easy to copy one or more
files.
But I wonder: Is it possible to get windows to display its File Copy
Progress dialog at the same time - or alternatively get callbacks with the
progress?
Same goes for deleting files...
Cheers,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
