Tracking Bounced Emails

Hi ASP Gurus out there,
I have question. I am wondering if any one can guide me towards a
script that can handle bounced emails from a newsletter campaign.
I am not interested in .Net solution.
The mail server is Exchange 2003 if that helps.
Right now clueless about tracking of bounced emails
Thanks

With ASP?
You really can't. I mean there is no event to trigger an ASP execution
directly.
What is it you are trying to do with the bounced mails? Maybe that will help
us out in leading you to the right solution. Most likely you are going to
have to have an app that integrates with Exchange or Outlook to handle
this..

You can't do this in ASP. You can do it with event sinks in SMTP, and
likely with some of the programming hooks into Exchange, but that's a
different news group. Try the Exchange groups for help there.

If you have access to the Pro version of JMAIL (www.dimac.net) or another
POP component, you could put together and schedule a VBS that would query a
particular mailbox, peel off the bounced email addresses and put them in a
db. Then write your asp to manage them.

It's not a 2 second job.. but it can be done.

hi ! I use to track ( with an image with id attached to its link ) the opening of some html messages ( don't worry I am not a spammer, they are newsletters sent to the salesforce ). Today I received a reply from one of the recipients who told me he just read today my email 'cause he now uses a different mail address while I knew he read it 2 weeks ago. My question is : did he just lie to me or using an image within the body of the...

Hi Guys, I am building a script that catches emails. I have access to the email source and I would like to distinguish between bounced emails, auto-replies and real replies. Is there a standard that all servers follow for rejected emails. I am looking for a unique string I can search for like "Mail Administrator" or "Failed email." Does anyone know or know where I can look? Cheers

Hi. I accidentally posted this to the German version ("de") of this newsgroup until I realized my mistake -- sorry! We're using the subroutine below to send emails via our classic ASP apps. However, we'd like to know if an email address isn't good -- in other words, it bounced back. Is there a way to do that with the CDOSYS email method? The From email is just some generic text and not a real email address in our apps. One brute force...

Hello All, I am exploring and developing a plan for a C# web app or windows app to handle bounced emails. Basically, I need to develop a system where I weed out bad addresses in our db...but after reading the articles listed below, I see that there are various responses the server will respond with if the send fails. I would like to parse the message, and categorize the address accordingly.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
