If a file has a .inc extension, or if it has a .inc.php extension, is it
treated differently by the php interpreter? Or is it just a convention?
I've been calling my included files filename.php and it doesn't seem to
hurt anything. Is it wrong to do that?

I'm using a MySQL database from within some Perl and PHP cgi's.
To make the connection, I have to supply the username/password
in the connection string. This info is readable for anyone that
can view my code, e.g. all other users that can access the
webserver box directly. This because the cgi-program has to be
readable for the user that's used by Apache.
How can I avoid this? I can't have my own webserver, regrettably,
other developers...

Hello all,
I don't know how to get around this one... If anybody can help me
with this problem, I would appreciate it very much.
I've been trying to send a (large) file to the browser via a download
page that uses a file download component. The file downloads fine,
except that Internet Explorer refuses to browse to a different page
while the file is downloading! I don't understand why it does that
and I don't know how to fix this...

If I provide a link like this in my page and the user clicks on the link
the document file is downloaded and displayed in Microsoft Word on
their machine.

Hi,
This is the code which used to download a file from webserver.
If I point a file in my localhost for download it is working fine but when I point to a file in a remote server it is downloading the file but is corrupted and can't be open.
Please reply back soooooon.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
