off line web development

Hi Currently using WIN 98 + PWS for off line web development

Will WIN 2000 PRO support PWS? or does it have IIS5 bundled with it, or does
it support no web server at all?

No problem, only XP home don't support IIS, even after upgrade to Pro.

2000 Pro has IIS5. It is not installed by default in 2000 Pro. 2000 *
Server will have it installed by default. To add it in W2K Pro, Add/Remove
Programs--Add/Remove Windows components--Internet Information Services

Correction. XP Home doesn't come with and MSFT doesn't support IIS on it
but IT does support it because IIS can be installed on it and it will work.

(repost under MSDN account) When building a solution that consists of one managed C++ project with a project reference to a C# project in the same solution, there is a bug when trying to build from the command line. The /FU arguments that should be present for the project's references appear in the IDE's buildlog.htm but they do not appear when built from the command line. Everything builds just fine from the IDE. We are running on XP...

I am using a try-catch-finally statement. In my Catch clause, I trap an error and display the error with the .Message property of the Exception class. The problem is that I do not know which line within the code that the error occurred? I do not see a property that tells me that.

Hi all, I am working on what I "thought" was a Web Project in VS 2005 using VB. I have published the site to an IIS server in our office for testing. When I hit a runtime error I get a basically unreadable stack trace that shows me the function or sub where the error occurred plus an offset instead of a line number. I created the "project" from the menus with File->New Web Site. All the documentation says to get line numbers in the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
