In bash, you can include a variable as part of a filename. For
example:
date=$(date)
cat log.txt > $date"_log.txt"
Which, when setting the right options in date, creates a file named
20040705_log.txt
I am now trying to call a class based on a previously defined variable

I have a table with an email field that contains values of the form
uid@domain. I need to populate a new field called uid with just the uid
part of the email address. Is there any way of using select to just
retrieve the part before the @ and insert it into the uid field?
Thanks,
Jason Joines

Hello all,
In my music library database I have my stock categorised by
media type; the types of media are: audio, book and score.
My score type is the one I'm having difficulty with.
Each Score may contain many sets and each set may contain
may parts. Please can someone suggest what tables I would
need and what relationships would be required to make what
I have described work. It is not as easy as it sounds because

I am about to revamp the most referenced table in my whole database and
am unsure the best way to approch it. The table's primary key is also
used as a part number for all the items in the table.
My first problem is that I need to seperate the single part number
field into multiple (3 or more). I could make multiple primary key's
for each of the new fields, but some would be null, and I hate dealing
with multiple primary keys. Plus this...

Hello everyone. I need some advice on table structure for a new project
I've been given.
One of our customers sends us an Excel spreadsheet each week containing
their order. Currently, someone formats the spreadsheet, prints it out, and
manually picks out the products we need to ship. I want to import this into
an Access table. Basically, the sheet with some data examples looks
something like this:

Is there any way to change the default search to "Any Part Of Field"
instead of whole field? The first thing I ever do when searching for
something in a field is change the default setting from "Whole Field"
to "Any part of field" because that way I don't have to key in the
entire word I'm searching for. It is especially frustrating having to
explain this to all of the people using my database. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

OK folks here is what I need help with. Lets assume I have a text field
that will contain AlphaNumeric data. There is no set pattern to the
field such that any given character can be either alpha or numeric. I
need a function that will return the requested 'part' of the contents of
the field. A 'part' would be defined as consecutive Alpha or Numeric
characters in the text field.
Examples:
Field Name = cFoo

I have a form, where I can activate the search and replace dialogbox when
pressing a button.
My problem is that the dialogbox opens with the default that it should
search for full match only, and I want it to open with default "a part of
field".
I did change it to default "A part of the field"?
by going to Tools -> Options menu to open the "Options" dialog window. Select the "Edit/Find" tab. Select the "General Search" option button.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
