query string with .htaccess

what im trying to do is grab id from http://example/id
and have it go to with the query results from http://example/test/test.php

to have it display the results on the index page.

thanks in advance for your help.

  2.  RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*)$
  3.  RewriteRule ^index.php$ http://example/test/test.php?MonthId=%1/? [R=301,L]$

  1. RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ test/test.php?id=$1
this will take anything from http://example/WHATEVER to http://example/test/test.php?id=WHATEVER

that did not help. the page should stand alone and if their is a query string then go to that page.
