I want to hide files ending with ".tpl" and ".conf"
from client access (but I still want server access to them).
How can I do it?
With Apache httpd, I can use "Files" directive to
match those files and deny the client access.
What if I can't modify httpd.conf and I can use .htaccess?
How about IIS?

We have upgraded our existing NT4, SQL 7 MIS server to a W2K, SQL 2K
server
On this I have install all the latests service packs for all
applications.
I am running Client Access v4r5 SP67276(latest).
I have setup all users, permissions, logins, links, dsn's, etc. as per
the old server.
However, when I run a openquery in query analyser it pulls one line and

both client and server do computations, the only data transfered is
user mouse/kbd input.

I want to create an application that can be used both for a
server-client model as well as a standalong application. The idea is to
write a general server-client application. The standalong then just has
both components on the same system. Now the question is if this is a
good approach or if this is even doable. For instance do web services
have requirements that would prevent them from running on a non-server
OS? Any input?

I asked the question yesterday, but know better how to ask it, today:
I'm trying to use the File.Copy method to copy a file from a client to
server (.Net web app under IIS ). It looks to me that when I
give a path like @"C:\holdfiles\myfile.txt" it looks on the server C drive.
How do I pull from the client? Do I need a different class and/or method?
Filestream?

I am a one man enterprise and have been asked by a prospective client
what happens to their database regarding ongoing changes etc if I get
hit by a bus.
Obviously my databases are distributed as mde files in an effort to
protect my intellectual property. How do I give the client peace of
