How is your DocumentRoot configured?

Under what user is apache running?

Does that user have enough rights to read C:\ ?

And, finaly, how is firewall? Have you tried to (temporarilly) turn it off ?

I want to hide files ending with ".tpl" and ".conf" from client access (but I still want server access to them). How can I do it? With Apache httpd, I can use "Files" directive to match those files and deny the client access. What if I can't modify httpd.conf and I can use .htaccess? How about IIS?

hi, everyone. I'm writing a 2-players game that should support network mode. I'm now testing it on 1 PC since I don't have 2. I directly use sockets, and both client and server do computations, the only data transfered is user mouse/kbd input. It works synchronously, but somehow, when I play in client window, both client and server have 17 fps, while when playing in server window, server has 44 fps while client ...

Hello, everyone. Our developers are wondering if their swing Java-based application connecting to a DB2 server through JDBC requires the DB2 client access license (CAL) per user. They've got the Java app installed on PCs connecting a DB2 server. They believe that the above scenario does not requires DB2 CALs. I think as long as an application connects to a DB2 server requires a

I want to create an application that can be used both for a server-client model as well as a standalong application. The idea is to write a general server-client application. The standalong then just has both components on the same system. Now the question is if this is a good approach or if this is even doable. For instance do web services have requirements that would prevent them from running on a non-server OS? Any input? Rob

I asked the question yesterday, but know better how to ask it, today: I'm trying to use the File.Copy method to copy a file from a client to server (.Net web app under IIS ). It looks to me that when I give a path like @"C:\holdfiles\myfile.txt" it looks on the server C drive. How do I pull from the client? Do I need a different class and/or method? Filestream? -- Thanks,

I am a one man enterprise and have been asked by a prospective client what happens to their database regarding ongoing changes etc if I get hit by a bus. Obviously my databases are distributed as mde files in an effort to protect my intellectual property. How do I give the client peace of mind, short of giving them a backup mdb file that any programmer could work on to provide required changes etc if I wasn't around? Of course this...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
