Apache 6 and Tomcat configuration with mod_proxy

2 New Member
Hi Folks,

I need urgent help with tomcat-apache configuration for load balancing using the mod_proxy module.

I have been trying to achieve this configuration:
2 tomcat instances load balanced by front end apache server.

I am trying to use the mod_proxy module available with apache. I have successfully loaded the module in httpd.conf file and placed workers.propert ies file in conf directory.

But any changes i make to the httpd.conf regarding proxing the apache server does not start.

If someone can help me with what parameters should be specified and where exactly in the httpd.conf

Thanks

When I installed Mandrake 10.0 I thought I had Apache, PHP, and MySQL installed correctly. I could serve web pages, MySQL worked, and when I tried the phpinfo() function, I got a page that looked OK. I could create simple php pages and serve them up. Then I tried to install pear, and things started to be not OK after all. phpinfo() told me that the 'Configure Command' had both the following in it: --with-pear=/usr/share/pear

I have setup Apache 2.0.47 on Windows XP to serve jsp/servlet requests using Tomcat 4.1.27. I did this using the mod_jk2 module and was able to successfully connect to http://host/examples and get the tomcat example pages. I'm using JDK 1.3.1-03. I then configured mod_deflate and was able to verify it works by telnet'ing to port 80 and giving it a request using "Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate". I did this on both the main index.html file...

Hello, I've spent a few days trying to get Apache and Tomcat work together via JK module. First I followed the following HOWTO link: http://www.johnturner.com/howto/winxp-howto.html and managed to get Tomcat static html page load from Apache server without specifying 8080 port, like this:

I am running a J2EE Web App under Tomcat 4.1 with Apache 2.0 proxying requests. Everything is configured and working appropriately however I ran into a problem after configuring J2EE Form Authentication. I have a security constraint restricting access to the application so that when I attempt to access the app I am redirected to the login page. This works as expected both when accessing the application via the Apache proxy or hitting...

Hello, I've recently installed apache on a new computer, and cannot figure out why my site will not process any includes. (it was working on my old one) There are no errors on the page such as "include not found", rather much of the page is blank where the included menus, etc would be, and the CSS is not attached. thanks so much!!! My httpd.conf looks like this:

Hi. Let me immediately declare - I'm a designer/owner of a website written in jsp pages running under Apache Tomcat 5.5.25. I make simple changes to code but don't understand much about configuration. My site is a commercial site called http://www.orientalrugsonline.co.uk and hosted by a third party who use cPanel and automatically download latest versions of Tomcat and Apache. For about a week, several important bits of my site have...

I've searched, I've read, I've tested and re-read numerous post but to no avail yet... Quite simply, the settings I've applied to my httpd.conf, httpd-vhost.conf and my hosts files simply does not work. Please review my work and let me know if you see that one little thing that is throwing me for a loop. HTTPD.CONF # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
