I think the .NET framework is great!
It's nice, clean and logical; in contradiction to the old Microsoft.
It only saddens me that the new Microsoft still doesn't under stand there own rules when it comes to file paths.
A lot of Microsoft installers for example, and also installers of other companies, do not work because they handle paths in the following manner:

What's the best way to remove trailing whitespace from a string? For
example: "John C. Doe \t" would become "John C. Doe". Thanks.

On most implementations of the standard C library, the functions that
copy characters in a previously allocated buffer, like strcpy or strcat,
are returning the pointer to that buffer.
On my NetBSD system, man strcpy gives the following prototype :
char *strcpy(char * restrict dst, const char * restrict src);
What's the point in returning a pointer we already know before the call?
Thank you in advance for an explanation.

I am wondering about what's the best and easiest way to strip trailing
whitespace from every single file in a folder, recursively.
I want to write a program/script so that you pass in a folder name and
it'll recursively go through all sub-folders and strips trailing
whitespace from every single file.
Trailing whitespace includes:
1. whitespaces at end of text lines, strip whitespace but retain text

Hi all :)
I'm implementing a menu system for my assignment.
User inputs command & an if/else switch statement executes the command.
I'm just not quite sure the best way to take user input.
For eg:

Hello,
I have been working through the K&R book (only chapter one so far) examples
and exercises. After much sweat and hair pulling, I think I have a
solution for ex 1-18 on page 31.
It seems to work but may be missing some error checking. Can you please
take a look and see if my logic is correct and any other improvements.
This is not a homework but it could just as well be. I am trying to get a

Hello,
I've recently installed apache on a new computer, and cannot figure out why my site will not process any includes. (it was working on my old one) There are no errors on the page such as "include not found", rather much of the page is blank where the included menus, etc would be, and the CSS is not attached.
thanks so much!!!
My httpd.conf looks like this:

I've searched, I've read, I've tested and re-read numerous post but to no avail yet...
Quite simply, the settings I've applied to my httpd.conf, httpd-vhost.conf and my hosts files simply does not work. Please review my work and let me know if you see that one little thing that is throwing me for a loop.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
