Can't Access Splash Screen to Open Database

2
I feel so stupid. I am a new Access user, and I did something stupid I need help with. I have a splash screen with buttons for opening queries, etc. Behind it is a full page screen that just sits there and hides the database. Both the splash and the background have a close button that I have to close in consecutive order to get to my tables, etc for editing. I am building this to be used by others that have a password to open it.

My splash screen is a pop up. Well, I did a dumb thing. I checked it to not be a pop up thinking it would sit on the background. What I failed to do was also make the background not a pop up.

Now when I open my database, I see the background, with no way to assess the splash screen to close it first. Therefore, I cannot do anything with my database. Nothing. All I can do is stare at a blank page.

Please help me get to the splash screen so I can correct my mistake. I hope my question makes sense.

Thank you ever so much!

If your DB is open, and you can't close it, you should be able to hit Ctrl-G, to bring up your Immediate Window. Then type:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. DoCmd.Close acForm, "Your Form's name here"
Then you should be able to make those changes again in design view.

It may well help to know that Ctrl-F4 is the key-sequence to close the current object or document across MS Office. It works on Access Forms and Reports, as well as Excel and Word documents of course.

Not trying to be difficult here, but when my forms are set to Popup=True, the Ctrl-F4 shortcut does not work.

Good spot Twinny. I didn't know that before I just did a test to confirm what you say is true.
