Access Splash Screen Question

P: 1
I am trying to create a splash form in Access that will appear, show some simple blinking text that says "Loading" and then close and open another main menu form.

I can get either the open and closing of the forms to work or the blinking text but not both together.

this is my code:

Private Sub Form_Load()
Dim Numtime As Integer
Numtime = 0
End Sub

Private Sub Form_Timer()
Numtime = Numtime + 1
If Numtime = 1 Then
Me.title.Visible = Not Me.title.Visible
End If
If Numtime = 2 Then
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmMainMenu", acNormal
End If
If Numtime = 3 Then
DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmSplash"
End If
End Sub

What am I doing wrong?

hi
maybe you should put Dim Numtime in the general declaration

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. Dim Numtime As Integer
  3.
  4. Private Sub Form_Load()
  5. Numtime = 1
  6. End Sub
  7.
  8. Private Sub Form_Timer()
  9. Select Case Numtime
  10. Case Is = 1
  11. Me.title.Visible = Not Me.title.Visible
  12. Case Is = 2
  13. DoCmd.OpenForm "frmMainMenu", acNormal
  14. Case Else
  15. DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmSplash"
  16. End Select
  17. Numtime = Numtime + 1
  18. End Sub
  19.
  20.
not tried yet...
