That's a fairly open question...
Let's say you're doing preventative maintenance work, you can certainly create a database that keeps track of the current work, work completed, and then based on completed work dates schedule new dates... and so forth.
As you have such an open question... if you have MS Access, you might start here if you're looking for something "off the shelf."

The best thing about these templates is that you can say... well this one does almost what we need; however, can it be modified to do.... that question either for people here or your inhouse DBA
Once you see what is there, you can start to design your own database that will do what you need... there are several steps to good database design. You can google these, several good books out there, and of-course some resources like here. One of the most important aspects is the normalization of the underlying data...
