Filter By Selection Option Not Available

2 New Member
Hello All,

I have a problem that I can't seem to find an answer to through querying the posts.

I have a form in access project 2003, which is linked to a SQL database, that I would like to be able to right click a field and apply a filter. Either the filter by selection or exclusion or the filter for.

I am currently unable to do so on my form. Sorting ascending and descending, copy / paste etc. are open, but the above mentioned options are unavailable.

The form is driven by a stored procedure which simply retrieves data from a table through a query with parameters passed for preconstraining the data.

Please let me know if there is a switch that needs to be flipped on this form or within the database itself to allow these "greyed out" options to be available on the form.

Thank you in adavance for your help!

Hi Eric

To apply a filter to a stored procedure would require a change to the stored procedure. The form is only an interface. A filter actually alters the record source. As the aforementioned filtering options are designed to be used on queries and your form is based on a stored procedure they are not available to you.

Thank you for the reply...to bad it wasn't the answer I was looking for!

Oh well, I guess I will have to come up with an alternative.
