Any help with this problem.

Hi
I have two databases, one the copy of the other and a different name to
it.
Both databases were working fine until I did a virus check with both
adaware and AVG (have used them for years. Both databases reside on a
memory stick.
When I open the 1st database(A) and used the form to enter data to the
table, it came up with the following error: Error signature -
AppName:msaccess.exe AppVer: 10.0.6771.0 ModName:msaccess.exe ModVer:
10.0.6771.9 Offset:004602d8. It then tries to repair itself and makes a
backup copy. A small icon with the database name is in the directory
with a lock showing on it and another with the name "db1". I can access
tables and reports etc excet that initial table.
When I open the second database(B), a copy of the 1st, Access opens but
the database doesnt. No additional icons are added to the directory it
comes from.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong.

change your browser to show the extensions even of those that it know.

I am willing to bet that the one that is access with a lock is the
Access Lock file with an extension of ldb

That is a file that is used by access to control the locking of
records, etc.
Normally you do not have to worry about this file.

The mdb1 file will be a copy of your main application - the one that
abended.

As to why the probelm. I do not have the slightest. I would suggest
doing a compact and remair on the database once you have it open.
