Not able to open the .mdb files after they were moved to another server

4 New Member
Hi,

The WorkOrder folder, which contains two Access files (Work Orders.mdb &
Work OrdersEng.mdb) used to be resided in the F:\ server (F:\ACCESS\SHARE\ENG\Work Orders). These two files were moved to another server called J:\ (J:\Work Orders), and soon after these files were moved, I'm not able to open it. Every time I opened the Work Orders.mdb, I got an error: 'F:\ACCESS\SHARE\ENG\Work OrdersEng.mdb' is not a valid path. After attempting to fix the path, I got another error: could not find file 'F:\ACCESS\SHARE\ENG\Work OrdersEng.mdb'.

These files are now residing in the 172.xx.xx.xxx:\apps\Work Orders and I've mapped J:\ drive to tha apps folder (J:\Work Orders). I have to mapped it this way because I'm not able to map J:\ directly to the 172.xx.xx.xxx. I'd would like to move these two files to (J:\apps\Work Orders)

These files were moved long ago before I took over this job. I believed that these files were hardcoded into the database, which requires someone who is really knowledgeable about Access to crack the code in order to change the path to these files. I know enough about Access, but not enough to crack the code.

Please help!

Hi,
It seems that those 2 mdb files are your front end /Orders/ and Back End OrdersEng

So when U move the files u need to relink the tables in Orders

Del all linket tables and relink them!

:)

It must be very simple for the end user, and uploading with a browser in a form would be perfect since it allows to upload and fill a form in the same time. I'll have full control of the server (no...
