Exporting without carriage returns in memos

What's the easiest way I can set up an export to strip out carriage
returns from memo datatypes?

Thanks

Andy

(I just found this message in my Outbox. Thought I did send it yesterday.)

Just use the Replace function to do your export:
If you would normally use a field like [MemoField] in your export, now you use Replace([MemoField], vbCrLf, "") instead.

What version of Access are you using?
The Replace function is built-in from version A2k and up.
If you do a Google search you wil find substitutes for this function if you are using A97.

Or is your question about how-to export ??

Perhaps he is refering to File/Export as the menu option and not a code
export.

If so, Andy, you need to learn how to write a little code to be able to
use Arno's advice.

Sorry if i have the wrong end of the stick here...

You are right, I was hoping to use File | Export. Is it not possible to
customise this?

Also does this utility write to a log file?

Thanks

You can use the function in a query and use File | Export of that query
Should not be a problem at all, or am I missing something here?

Log file?? There is NO logfile standard with Access.
You could however create logfiles you need, but that's another issue I guess.
