Format field data

I have a social security field and I want to format it so the user MUST
type 11 numbers (no less than 11).

The SSN field should be a Text datatype, not Number datatype.
Set the Field's Input Mask property to
000\-00\-0000;0;_

Only the actual 9 numbers should be entered.
Access will add and store the hyphen's.
