Access 03 and HP Laser - Print Shrinking

I've had two customers running standard access reports that do something odd
the first time only. When they preview and print it the report shrinks into
a 2 x 2 box in the top left corner. The second time you run the report it
is full screen "normal".

Has anyone seen this issue? These are two different hp laserjets.

Other notes: Windows XP, Server 2003 and Access 2003.

Thanks

Shrinks on the preview or the print out?

Tried unchecking "Track Name Autocorrect"?

It actually shrinks on both the preview and the print.

I'll look at the settings. Isn't that for spelling?

Thanks

Yes, I have seen this on certain HP Laserjets. I have seen this happen
with Access and VB applications but not others. Occasionally I had
reports which mysteriously printed in unimaginably small font sizes.
The reports which previously required 8.5x11" paper would suddenly be
able to fit on a postcard. A subsequent printing of the report by the
same user would print normal size. Updating the drivers did not help.

I seem to recall having to set the resolution to 600 dpi (down from its
default of 1200 dpi). There may have been other driver settings which
had to be changed, but I don't recall specifically which ones, if any.
Play around with various driver settings and you should be able to
resolve the problem. Are you by chance using a Laserjet 2100?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

Nothing to do with spelling no, the setting is to do things like if you
rename a query then all reports bound to it will get updated with the
new name as well. Nice idea but has been seriously bugged since it's
inception in A2000 so 3 versions and 7 service packs and I've never
heard of a fix. The bugs do funny things to reports, can't remember what
in each version but it's generally best left unchecked.

Otherwise the only other problem I know of with Laserjets is their
drivers are quite buggy. In the past I've found that Laserjet 3s and 4s
worked best using a Laserjet 2 driver. The 4 driver got better and
subsequently the 5 worked better on the 4 driver, etc. So either
download the latest version of the print driver, which may have a fix or
step back to a previous printer's driver that's been around for a while.

One of them is an 8100. I'll check it out and post to the group if it
helps.

Thanks
