data input on access forms

hi
ive setup subforms and i need the following to occur
with each record presented, i need a command that when the user types
in a number, eg 5, 5 new records are created in the sub table and i
want the form to then display 5 extra fields for the user to update
with values and save automatically
how do i achieve this simply

If so, have you used Recordsets before? Because this is what is required.

What design makes the user decide how many records to create? The
question can be answered, technically, in several ways (executing SQL
statements is one, manipulating recordsets is another) but I feel there
is some setup issue that needs to be addressed first.
