Simple Question?

I've been using Access 2002 for several months and thought I was
getting proficient, but at the moment I'm feeling like a moron because
I can't get it to do something that seems simple.

I have a main table that has most of my database. Then I have a
"Groups" table which I want to use to group the main database by a
sub-heading. I have a "GroupID" Field in both tables and I have them
linked in the Relationships table. When I set up a Group form with a
subform from the main table it lets me enter new data into the main
table, but what I want to do is have a combo box which I can choose
entries from the main table and group them under the group heading in
the new table so that for each Group there will be several entries
fromt the main table.

Is this making sense?

What happens is that I can enter the Group Number in the main database
and then the entries show up in the subform of the Group form, but I
can't just choose them in the subform. They either don't come up in
the combo box or they disappear when I go to the next entry and then
come back.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you have a form for the "Main table", then just put a combobox on
the form for that table and set the rowsource to the GroupNumber field
(or whatever you call it). Then you can update all you want. If you
enforce RI, you can't create a record in Main Table that's not
associated with a Group... because the relationship would be
Group--(1,M)--MainTable (members of group).

Or did I totally miss something here?
