I have an application in Access 2000 with lots of code, ADO included.
I am getting a new machine with Office 2003. Is there anything I need
to know before converting the database?
Thanks.
Problems I've encountered
- Stricter naming convensions (an A97 database I was converting for the
police has a field name [Applicant's ID]. Needless to say apostrophies
are no longer allowed). (In my opinion don't use spaces either).
- Running an A2000 database in A2003, conditional formatting no longer
worked properly
- By default you will get security warning messages on opening DBs. This
can be turned off on each individual PC. Else go buy yourself a digital
certificate to sign your DBs with.
ps. Convert to A2000 format... then users of A2000, A2002 and A2003 can
use your DB.
