Wierd Access behavior while deleting a record

Access XP
Windows XP

This code has been working for over 5 years with no problems and all
of a sudden I am running into these wierd problems.

I have this code to delete a record.
DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 8, , acMenuVer70
DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 6, , acMenuVer70
I am getting error 2465.
Sometimes the above code deletes the record the 3rd time I click the
button, the first 2 times i get 2465.

I changed the code to
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdDeleteRecord
and I am getting 2046 and 2455 errors

I dont know if I am missing a reference. Here are all the references I
have
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsft Access 10.0 Object Library
Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library
Microsoft Visual Basic for applications Extensibility 5.3
OLE Automation

Have a nice weekend.
