Relationships

Hi,

When there is a relationship with another table there is usually a plus
sign on the rows to expand and edit rows in the related table, if a
particular table has more than one relationship can you define it such
that it displays a different related table based on some criteria. Where
can i edit the behaviour of the expansion of that plus sign

thanks

The plus sign is known as subdatasheets, a feature that was introduced with Access 2000.
With a table open in datasheet view, click on Insert > Subdatasheet... to open the Insert
Subdatasheet dialog box. You can pick tables and/or queries.

Format > Subdatasheet > Remove (with the table opened in datasheet view) will allow you to
remove a subdatasheet.

In table design view, you can click on View > Properties. Here, you can also control the
subdatasheet. It is recommended that you set it to None for a shared back-end database:

I dont have a direct answer to your question but I do have a suggestion.
Maybe try creating a query and using a subdatasheet on that. This would not
solve changing one subdatasheet dynamically (which is what I think your
asking for) but it would allow you to create multiple queries of the same
table, one seperate query for each seperate subdatasheet needed. IMHO, if
your looking for more "views" out of your table you should build queries and
forms. It is always a good idea to keep the users away from entering data
directly into tables. With a form approach you could use multiple subforms,
one for each "subdatasheet" you needed to see. In your OnCurrent event of
the main form you could check the state of the current record and make
visible the correct subform and hide the rest.
