Apply ValidationRule Before Update Method

Using VB6 and ADO I am doing the following:

Dim avntData(0 to 9) As Variant
Dim rcsData As ADODB.Recordset
Dim lngCol As Long

For lngCol = LBound(avntData) To UBound(avntData)
rcsData.Fields.Item(lngCol).Value = avntData(lngCol)
Next lngCol

1) Is there any way to check a value to be assigned to an Access field
having a ValidationRule and get INSTANT feedback as to whether or not it
"passed"? I'd rather not wait for the Update method.

2) If there are more than 1 validation errors is it possible to get all of
them when the Update method is executed? I seem to only be getting the first
one.
