Combo Box in DataSheet View Form

102 New Member
Hello friends.
I am making a form to Select Some Records and then send it to Print.

I want to use a Form in DataSheet View. Using ComboBox for Selecting a Record from thousands of records.

Upon selecting from ComboBox other 5 fields must display. I want to continue it till the required quantity of Records select.

Now this form works for Only 1 Record and then tab stop. and not going
further. The logic is like this :
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Select Received.DrawingNo
  2.      , Received.Rev
  3.      , Received.Title
  4.      , Received.Type
  5.      , Received.Purpose
  6. From Received
  7. Order BY Received.DrawingNo;
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub Form_AfterUpdate()
  2. DrawingCombo.Requery
  3. End Sub
Why Tap stop and not going further. Where I am making mistake. Is my logic, to use DataSheet View form is correct. Please some one help.

Thanks

I don't believe events actually trigger in DataSheet View. Why do you want DataSheet View?

How is your code, or anything really, working towards recognising which records to include?

Dear Neopa

For selection of records that user want to print. The data/records are in 4 figures(9999). so in datasheet view he can easily select by using combo box. Kindly open the attached file and check my logic is correct or not.

I'm really not sure how you can still be expecting anyone to open your database after all this time and having been told so many times that this is not how things are done.

Your question must be expressed clearly in the thread. So far you haven't managed that. I appreciate that English is not your main language, but you need to understand this is an English forum. Expecting our experts to discover what it is you're talking about by examining your database is simply not acceptable.

I repeat my question :
How is your code, or anything really, working towards recognising which records to include?

Your response so far is no answer and doesn't even give me a clue as to what we're dealing with. I need a meaningful response in order to continue to offer help.

I have a form which allows both form and datasheet views. My question is, is it possible to control the field (column) names in datasheet view? What happens at the moment is that the name is taken from a control's label if there is one, and if not, the control's name is used. This is confusing for my users so I'd like to be able to use more sensible names in datasheet view. Is this possible? Many thanks. Keith.

I want to follow naming conventions for my controls - i usually prefix combo boxes with "cbo". When a form is in datasheet view however i do not want the user to see the 'cbo' prefix in front of the field name. Is there a way to retain this nomenclature and yet have the view display the field name (or anyname i want for that matter)? Thanks --

I have created a Main Switchboard in Access 2000 and it has a button which opens a Form. I have set the form Properties Default View to Datasheet and this always opens in datasheet view. When I open the Form from the Main Switchboard it always opens in form view. Can this be changed so that it always opens in Datasheet View? Terry

Hi: I have a tables in relationship to each other. When I open the main table (table 1), I see a "+" at the very left of every record. Clicking on the "+" expands the data of the linked table (table 2). Now ... when I create a form from table 1, I didn't manage show these 2 tables the same way (with the "+" at the left side of every record) as it was shown as table. Access insists of making a regular form out of table 1, but accepts...

I am trying to find out if I can have a specific record that has been selected in a list box be opened in datasheet view. I can't seem to find where this can happen or what I need to use to make it happen? Does anyone have any ideas? My list box is currently tied to an option group so that they can sort the list box in order of how they want to search for certain records. It is a maintenance form. I want the user to be able to select...

I have created a combo box on a datasheet view form that does 2 things: it uses a dlookup to get the initial data (an employee name) then it has a row source to a query. The strange thing that happens is that when I open the form, the first name appears, and all subsequent records have missing entries (the rest of the data does show up). When I either click the mouse anywhere or hit any key, the remainder of the names magically appear. I...

I'm learning Access (2002) as I go, but I can't find how to open a form from a datasheet view. I want to be able to view records in the datasheet and click on a link to open a form to allow me to update the particular record I was viewing. I've been experimenting with hyperlinks but fear I may be barking up the wrong tree. Any help appreciated.

That rather long subject says it. In Access97 running on XP - I want to display a Maximized size Form01, then open a Restore size Datasheet View Form02 on top of the first Form. PopUp won't give me Datasheet view. Dialog mode won't give me Datasheet view I could make Form01 Restore size and expand it to fill the Window in Restore size (maybe DoCmd.MoveSize Right, Down, Width, Height) - I don't want this.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
