Send to E-mails from Access Table a Reminder

1 New Member
Access 2013

I am very new in Access.

I have a table with the cursant name, course, expiry date, email address of the cursant. I want Access to automatically send to each coursant an email which notifies them about the course expiry date, with 2 months before.

Can you help me with this?

1) Normalization is your friend!
Please read thru the following article in our insights directory: Database Normalization and Table Structures

2) Sending multiple reports will be come easier once you have the database properly normalized and designed. You do not mention if you are sending via email, snailmail, hand delivery, or carrier pigeon ( :D ). If you are using outlook the docmd.sendobjec t method is the most straight forward for simple emails for sending reports. If you will use the bytes.com search tool using keywords Access EMAIL and include one of the expert/moderator names (NeoPa, Rabbit, Jforbes, Seth Schrock, ZMBD, etc...) you will turn up many threads covering this topic in great detail.

- if you have a specific question or sticking point we can provide you much better guidance.

More advanced:
Application Automation

Keep in mind that Access expects VBA dates to be in the #MM/DD/YYYY# format.

Once you have your query and your code put together if there are still sticking points post back.

and a simple search here on bytes:

My app attempts to send eMails via SmtpClient. This works with some addresses, but for instance a mail server hosted by godaddy always rejects the mails. The reply is "Relay access denied". Does anybody have an idea what the cause of the problem is, and how I can work around? Thanks in advance, Thomas

I'm trying to automatically send emails through VB, through Microsoft Outlook 2003, but get the security message ... "A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?" which means, I have to be sitting at my computer at the time I want the email to "automatically" send. I've searched the Internet, and all I found was software to install to fix this problem. I don't want that. I'm wondering...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
