I am trying to get an update query to change the password when run.
At the moment I have the two fields;
- Password
- Change_password
I want the query to update my table when the user had written in both of the two fields which should overwrite the previous password with the 'change_passwor d' field.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have these two fields but am unsure of what I should write to allow the passwords to change.
As at the moment it doesn't edit any of the fields.

Recognized Expert Moderator MVP Update To: under Password should be set to [Insert New Password].
The whole field [New Password] makes no sense in this scenario as explained and should probably be removed. Criteria: (underneath Update To:) should be applied to ensure that only the record for a specified user is changed, otherwise all records will be set to the same new password. I doubt this is what you want (You certainly haven't said so in your question).
I am having trouble understanding what it is you are trying to accomplish. Maybe if you can explain the nature of what it is you are trying to do then I can grasp it better and throw some suggestions in. Is this for users of a database? Stuff like that.

I am trying to update a password, in my members table to a new updated one.
However i have two tables, one which is the proper members table and another which only has the password and username fields.
So this query will be accompanied by another. This one will insert a new password into the second field which the second query will move the new password into the main members table.
The query will hopefully allow a user to change their password of which they use to login.
Sorry for not being clear the first time.
No problem. Sometimes its just easier to understand when you know the goal in mind.
What are the names of the tables that you have? What are the names of the fields you have in each table?

The change in design (or explanation of said design) adds far more questions than answers I'm afraid Zak.
Not least why you have such a design, but more importantly the questions already raised (such as how an individual is managed without updating the records for all users) is not even touched on.
Frankly, this is barely a hint of a question. If you want proper help then you'll need to post a properly considered and fully explained question for us to look at. This isn't even close to that - especially now after a whole bunch of new cans of worms have been opened up.

I imported records into a table, later found out that many of them had
trailing spaces in one of the fields. If I'd caught it sooner, I could have
trimmed the spaces before the import.
This wouldn't work (nothing changed):
UPDATE tblManuals SET tblManuals.PARTNUM = Trim();
Would someone please tell me how to do an update query that will trim the
spaces?

I've created a form that has many option boxes to help users choose

I've created an update query to change the value from –1 (system

criteria section of the append query, I put a simple if statement:

Hello Experts,
I have two systems written in Access 2003 that I'm in the process of merging. A user will be given a specific screen depending on his user name. I have a form (let's call it frmPMain) that I'd like to use as a stand-alone filter but I'd also like it to be a subform of another form (frmWMain).
My question is this - In SQL Query Builder is there a way that I can reference a field's parent form without an implicit reference...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
