How to format SQL Server data in Access report

I've recently migrated an Access backend over to an SQL Server. Everything in the front-end is operating normally except the formatting.

For whatever reason, Access can't seem to apply any formatting to the SQL Server data. Does anyone know any solutions to this or have an explanation of why this is the case?

Also, if it helps, I'm on Access 2010, Windows 7, SQL Server 2008

Ill be honest and say I don't really have experience in using SQL server with Access. However, I would guess for anyone to help with this, they would need info on WHERE and HOW you have tried to apply formatting, and on which field types you want to apply formatting.

Actually, I've got it working now. But if it will help anyone else:

I was trying to apply a 'Currency' format in an Access report. The record source was an Access query which was based on 3 joined pass-through queries. The data in the SQL server is in a decimal format.

Simply applying the format in report text box failed. I tried applying the format in the Access query design and that failed as well. What did work was applying the 'Round' function to the data field in the Access query.

I had no reason to use the 'Round' function. I was just taking a shot in the dark and it worked. My guess is that any numeric function would have worked.

All, I have exhaustingly been looking through the newsgroups in search of a way to systemically output an Access 97 report to a pdf file using the full version of Adobe Acrobat. I want the user to be able to click a button and have the Access report saved as a pdf in a directory specified by me the programmer. I have seen a posting by John Baker promoting a web-sight that has an mde that one can reference in any database but after 30...

tblCourses one to many to tblEvents. A course may have an intro workshop (a type of event), a mid course workshop, a final exam. Or any combination. Or something different in the future. At the moment the printed output is usually going to Word. It's turning into an unholy mess, because I'm having to prepare umpteen different Word templates, and the queries that drive them, depending on what events a course has.

When I export xml(and xls) from Access 2003 the result is a complete report in a single page. I would like to get the entire report in a single page (one trip to the server) for printing and scrolling-preview, but with page breaks and page numbering appropriate to the paper size. I have a sense that this can be done in xsl, since xsl defines the format for everything else in the report. My goal is to avoid the time and expense of...

This is my first day here, so please be patient. I do not know how to search very well so the search I tried to get the answer showed me topics from the year 2000 and they really don't cover what I want. I am trying to open MSAccess from ASP..I guess I would use server.createobject("Access.Application") OK, but where do i go from there to run a report and have it print to the default printer?

I have read postings on the similar subject including the posting from 2003 shown below. This process works fine to display a single page snapshot report in PowerPoint. I need to display subsequent pages from the same snapshot file in subsequent slides in PowerPoint. I realize that it is possible to add VB code to the Snapshot Viewer Control and that there are properties such as .FirstPage, .NextPage, .LastPage, etc, But I can't find...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
