When asking questions it becomes more clear what you want to achieve if you describe WHY you want to achieve it.
Im assuming that when you save a record, you want to record which form was used to create the record? If so you would need to add a field to your table tx_FormName, and a textbox tb_FormName bound to the field, and then have code in the Before_Update event of the form:
Thanks a lot TheSmileyCoder, i will try that later.
is tx_FormName exactly the name of the field that i will add in table and the textbox tb_FormName in the form?
Thanks a lot.. i figure it out now.. It working!
tx_FormName and tb_FormName are jsut the naming convention I personally use. You could call it just about anything, as long as the textbox on the form is bound to the table, and you update the small bit of code from post #2 accordingly.
I'm glad to hear you got it working.

Hello and Good day.
There's a site I want to link to passing info I collect without having
to re-enter the data on that's sites input form. I know this is not
always possible, but in this case want to make sure it's not code. The
site renders a Sat image when fed address.
To manually get to the form go to :
imageatlas.globexplorer.com
and enter a valid address and hit FIND IT.

I have created a simple relational database using two tables, 'Student

'Input/Edit Student Details'.
'Student Details' has a field called 'Log Book No' (no duplicates

I have created an Order Entry form that displays a Customer Name from
a table called "CustList". That table also contains the usual..
address, city, etc. to include a CustID field.
On the Order Entry form, I choose the Customer Name and I am
displaying CustID by means of "=txtCustomer.Column(1)" which
corosponds with the Customer Name.

2. I click on "data" and then "Add New Data Source" then I click on next
within the wizard
3. I have 3 choices Database, Local Database, Web service and Object.

I have a DataGridView with a TextBoxColumn. I setting the data source to a
List<stringvalue in a static class. The list is filled from a background
thread. So far all is fine and it works great, at least on my system.
The reason I am doing this is some customers are pulling from VPN
connections which are slow. This allows the list of rows in the data grid
to appear a little quicker while the list which are not used as soon load in...

Hi,
I would like to ask for some direction on what would be the best way to
(1) Autopopulate a combo box to text boxes - used for a customer list
(2) Then have the information saved in the table?
NOTE: I have already tried this method with 50% success - it works but does not save to the table.
control source of the text box - comboboxname.column(n)
First Question? What is the best method to to autopopulate then save...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
