Ok to simplify things I'll just give an example.
This is pretty much what I want to do (minus the postcode):

I have relatively little experience with databases (hate being a n00b)

course..
How far have I got?
Ok so using MS access 2003. I have a table (table1) with data with a

Is it possible to link one drop-down box to another? For example, if a
name is chosen from a drop-down list, can another drop-down list then
automatically display the person's office as a result of the choice
made in the first drop-down list? If so, how can that be done? I am
working with 'Teach Yourself Microsoft Access' and I didn't see it
discussed in that book (if it's even possible to do). Or would I just
have to create linked tables...

I've populated a drop down list from a sql query and the drop down list
(select box) looks fine. The issue is... I need to show a blank entry at
the top of the select box. In asp I would just add <option
value=""></option>. Does anyone know how to do it in .Net?
Thanks

Hello
I am working with Access 2003. When I click on the drop down list tool.
Access crashes. Get the error message that "the constant you entered is
not valid". No matter what db I work with, no matter if the form is
blank or not. I have searched in vain MS and google. Reinstalled Office
2003. Still zippo.
Anyone have any ideas.

Hi,
I have MS Office Pro 97 and have built a database that has two tables.
The MS Office Pro 97 manual does not appear to cover how to make a Drop down list and thus I need some advice on the how to.
The drop down list boxes will be in the subform.
The values that I would like to show in the second table which is what the subform is designed on are;
List 1 values: Approved Discharge, Denied, Not Discharging
List 2 values: Low Risk, High...

Hello,
I'm sure many of you have seen the error message in the subject. I
found quiet a few posts on the web regarding this issue, but the ones
I saw mainly tackle this issue when you have a drop-down list
depending on another drop-down list within a form view. This is not
what I'm trying to do, so I didn't know how to apply the solutions I
found to my problem.
I have a formview which inserts items into a database table via an

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
