I have just had to upgrade to Access 2003 as Access 97 EMail (SendObject) doesn't work when loaded on Windows XP. I'm finding my way around Access 2003 but my biggest problem is getting information. When I bought Access 1.0 many years ago, I got a paper manual and an excellent help file with all you needed to know. With Access 97 the manual came as a 'Building Applications' document on the CD and I still had the excellent help. With Access...

We have an Access 97 database app that we'd like to enable (not convert) for Access 2003. We still have users running 97 and are not prepared to upgrade everyone who uses this database to the 2003 version yet. We're getting an error message when we try to do this which reads as follows: "There were compilation errors during the conversion or enabling of this database. The database has not been saved in a compiled state. The performance...

I have a client who is using Access 2002/2000 (the database itself is written in 2000), and is considering migrating to Access 2003. Any recommendations on whether Access 2003 is worth the migrate, or should he stick with 2002? Thanks! Neil

Hi Every Body: I hope this is to the right post. I apologize if I am incorrect. Could anyone please answer one or any of the following questions for Access 2003: - Maximum size of an Access database (after split) - speed of Access using a Citrix server (any server for that matter, will it affect the processing time of other database programs running

Hi Hi We are currently upgrading from access 97 to office 2003 on site. We would like to upgrade our access databases to Access 2003 but we wish to remove Microsoft access software from our end users so that we can control the creation of databases. Is there a way that our end users can still use these upgraded access databases without having access 2003 installed on their machines. The mdes will reside on a server so they can be...

Recently converted the entire office to Access 2003 as a by-product of upgrading all users to XP sp2 and Office 2003. My performance on the Access 2003 datasheet view of a bound (to an underlying SQL Server view) is so slow the application now is unusable. There must be some additional settings that I am not aware of (I wrote all of the code on the back end .. and it has been optimized and runs extremely well). Current environment is...

I'm having a system using Access 2000 as both front-end (queries, forms, reports & temp tables for reports) & back-end (data) with back-end running on the server. The application runs on the network with around 15 users. The back-end database is suffering from performance issues. There were several corruptions since few months & one major corruption & corrupted the MSysObjects table. Also, the system will run batch process that generate...

Hello everybody, I've got a bit of a situation that I could use some guidance with if possible. I work for an auditing firm where my users audit electronic shipping data for customers to see if they've been overcharged for shipments by truck and rail carriers. 99.9% of the time, one of our auditors needs to see all data sent by a customer in datasheet view so that they can sort records in many different ways looking for duplication...

Good Morning, I am trying to build an application that will take the details from an access database and use them as log in details but I can not get the App to open the table as I keep getting the error Record(s) cannot be read; no read permissions on tbl_users_agb I built the database that has the table so there should not be an issue with permissions. the code I entered is as follows. Private Sub frmSwitchboard_Load(ByVal sender As...

I have to update a form based on old(!) Access 2003 - in particular I need to replace the old DatePicker control with a proper calendar control. I have Calendar 12, but it's always maximised. So have I got to hide it/minimize it manually, or is there a better one out there I haven't seen yet? Thank you! stonwardR

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
