Run Apply Filter in Report

1 New Member
I know this is a simple function to program, but I'm a little rusty. I'm trying to set the "On Open" event on a report using a macro to apply a filter that I have saved as a query.

Can you please provide an example of how I should enter the information to run this filter when I open the report.

Thanks,
Ashley

Why not simply set the Record Source of the report equal to the Filtered Query?

Hi, I have a form based on a table. When I filter the form I want to run a report based on the same table with the same filter as the form. No problem until I want to filter a combo box where the text value is on a different table. The me.filter is then a text instead of the id-number from the lookup table. This causes the report to prompt for the parameter. How do I get by this problem? Do I need to create a temporary table? I rather...

I am just trying to print/report the results of a "filter by selection" which is done by right-clicking a form, filling in values, and "applying the filter." I have searched the newsgroups, and there are many examples. BUT, they fail sometimes. The techique is to pass the form's Me.filter as the "where condition" in a Docmd.openreport statement in code behind a "print button" on the form.

I already have a report designed under Reports. When I use filtering in Forms or Tables, I see no way to select that filtered list when I am in Reports, and there appears to be no way to do the filtering when I am in Reports. I have received two replies to this message, posted a few days ago within another Subject. One requires making programming type statements. That should not be necessary -- Access must have a quick way to just click...

I set up a form for searching criteria and pass the searching result to a report. On this report there is an unbound text box (=.Filter) and shows the searching criteria. It works fine when searching criteria is NOT NULL. But when Seaching criteria is Null, it will show some incorrect default filter. I think the problem might be solved by using IIF( Report.filteron, Report.filter, Null). But I don't know how to set Report.filteron=True. ...

I recently tried to use code for "Use a multi-select list box to filter a report" from Allen Browne in my database. I was able to add the code and adapt it to my needs, however I am getting an error. I click Ok and the report opens. I look in the design view and the filter is there but the IN equals "" (it is blank, the values are not in there)

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
