why the user Admin is always the current owner of the database (not me)

16 New Member
Good day,

When i create a new blank database, when i go in the user group and permissions and then i click on change owner tab.

I notice that the user Admin is always the current owner of the database.

Some one can tell me what i have to do to set as the current owner of a database, when i create a new blank database ?

Thanks.

I found the solution, to be the owner of the database.

1- i double click on the .mdw file and then from the ms access file menu, i have select new... , blank database and the usuall steps (folder, name etc...).

2-i opened up the new created database and my name was displayed as the current owner.

Have a nice day.

I want to 'grant sysdba to a user' for an application. (At least that is what I believe so far after having had this problem dumped on me 2 days ago.) The support we get from the application vendor is lame, to say the least. Our application users dont know anything. 1. The Oracle 9i server is installed on a Sun Solaris system. 2. I work with Sybase and hence don't know any Oracle. 3. I can start sqlplus but dont know where to go after...

Hello, In classic ASP, I used to use two include files on each page, one before and one after the main content, to provide a consistent layout across a web site. That way I could just change the include files to change the layout. When I came to ASP.NET, I used user controls to do a similar thing. I have just been looking at master pages, and it looks like they do the same thing. If so, is there any advantage in using them over the...

I have a VB windows forms application that accesses a Microsoft Access database that has been secured using user-level security. The application is being deployed using No-Touch deployment. The objective in utilizing this new deployment method is to reduce the maintenance overhead as well as making it easier for my users to setup and run the application initially. I have VS 2002, Windows XP, Access XP(2000 format). He is my problem....

I am sorry if this is the wrong group to ask, if so please point me in the correct direction. My problem is I have an MDB file with user-level security on it (mdw). When i move it over to a system that has Access 2007 and try to open it, I get a user name and password prompt. The admin username and password from the other system doesn't work. Is there anything special I need to do? If I could I would actually love to remove this...

I want to add a feature to a project I'm working on where i have multiple users set up on my Postgres database with varying levels of access. At the bare minimum there will be a login user who only has read access to the users table so that users can log in. Once a user has been logged in successfully I want to escalate that user's access level to one appropriate to their role, which will include switching the postgres user they are...

Hello, I need to communicate with a db2 database from a java program and this java program needs to check which "user tables" there are. I came up with the following query which I tried in Control Center: select tabname, tabschema from syscat.tables where tabschema != 'SYSCAT' and tabschema != 'SYSIBM' and tabschema != 'SYSIBMADM' and tabschema != 'SYSSTAT' and tabschema != 'SYSTOOLS'; It seems to work, it returns just the tables that I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
