I need help with an Auto Date issue in Access 08 Forms

1 New Member
I am setting up Forms in Access 08. I have a form which when opened will auto insert the current time and current date. I need to be able to allow the user to set up paramaters to auto select a future date based on the current date which auto populates.

This form will be used to print a traffic citation. The officer opens the form and inputs the values for offender information, vehicle information, etc. When the officer gets to the court date box, I want it to auto populate the next appropriate court date as defined in a agency setup process.

The problem I have is that this application will be used by multiple agencies. The agency will need to tell the application how they set up their court dates. Some agencies do court every monday for instance and some may only do court once a month on the third thursday. Anyone have an idea how I could set up a system of inputing these variables so that it can output a appropriate court date. Oh and just to make it even more thrilling to figure out, keep in mind that the rules they set up will also have exceptions such as blackout dates like holidays, etc.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sorry for your troubles; you would however save yourself a lot of work if you posted part of or all your code here for looks. Most of us are just passing through, would jump to aid if code is available.

Do stay tuned though, I am not trying to be passive. I would also fetch through results here a little bit, just to see what's there.

In a bit, and good luck with your project-)

Actually, I have also taken the liberty of changing your title to see if you can get better hits on this,

changed from:

"I need help with an Auto Date issue"

to:

"I need help with an Auto Date issue in Access 08 Forms"

Also sending over to Access for added support.

In a bit!

I'm very new to databases so bear with me. What I need is a way to track the training for the employees at my firm. I have 40 classes that I will be teaching on various subjects and various levels of difficulty. I have 100 employees that will need to take some of the classes offered (already determined who needs to take what). I need a way to track the training by class (did everyone who was supposed to take the class, actually...

I have a lot of respect for David Fenton and Allen Browne, but I don't understand why people who know how to write code to completely replace a front end do not write something that will automate the code that implements managing unbound controls on forms given the superior performance of unbound controls in a client/server environment. I can easily understand a newbie using bound controls or someone with a tight deadline. I guess I need...

I have been having endless difficulty creating reports/queries that set any relevent parameters from controls in forms. I am creating an application under access 2003 but will target access 2000. The access file is in access 2000 format. I have a form that will hold the relevent parameters for the query/report that reports the statistics for all job records that match a certain criteria. These are: - A Customer Name.

I have a 200 record database that includes a date/time field, AnnivDate, for a wedding anniversary. AnnivDate has nulls and some incorrect year data. I have been creating the Access database using data imported from an Excel file and the person entering into Excel only cared about the month and day portion and Excel added the current year to the field value. I want to produce a report that shows upcoming anniversaries using a parameter...

Below is a small but complete program that appears to show you can't retrive a Palette from the clipboard. This is true whether the palette is placed on the clipboard by Photoshop or Photoshop or by the below program It lets you place a palette from a file or from a program on the clipboard and allows you to retrieve one from the clipboard. But you'll find the retrieved one is always "Nothing"

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
