Hi there,
I'm trying to import a csv file into my MySQL database. Unfortunately the
number format for the price column is formatted in German style, i.e. XX,XX
(decimals separated by comma not by dot). When importing this file using
LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE the decimals are cut off. I'm using column type FLOAT
for the price column in my database.
Is there any chance to preserve the decimals when importing the csv file
into my database...

I am importing a file using BCP, with a format file. It is a
fixed-width file, which I am importing into a table that has a column
for each field in the file. The columns in my import table are all
defined as CHAR. I use it as a staging area to check the data (are
dates formatted correctly, etc.) before moving it from there.

What's the big deal with importing text files? I have a 70 MB file to import
and it's been one problem after another. I used the copy command and it appears
that it's just not possible. I finally massaged the file into a .sql file and
ran that using \i db.sql but that failed too because I overlooked ' in names

Importing V8.2 IXF files into V5.2

As a regression step, I want to import the data (exported from the v8.2
client IXF format) into the v5.2 format. The source database server is
on a OS/400 v5r2 ( was not able to find out the version of DB2 on

Hi! I have a scenario in which i am importing a VERY LARGE database
over the network. (Linking is not my solution). Now it takes many
hours to import the complete database. I want that once the whole
database has been imported, next time when i import only the NEWER
records come in (almost database refresh every 24hours) so that the
time taken is much much smaller and the network donot get chocked for
many hours daily.

I want to be able to import an Excel spreadsheet into Access 2K using
the macro command Transferspreadsheet.
However, the file I am importing (over which I have no control)
contains some records that are "dirty" i.e. the field contents do not
comply with the expected format (date/time) and they end up in a
